OBJECTIVE: Build research skills in accessing and navigating publicly accessible data for the purposes of identifying relevant primary research data for a future project. Develop experience and confidence in using a variety of online databases to search for a target topic.
INSTRUCTIONS

- Run keyword search(es) related to the broad topic of sales in the Canadianfilm and/or television industry/industries in 2017.*Tip: Use keywords, do NOT copy this exact phrase into the search bar, break it up into singular keywords, possibly use synonyms.Do NOT use Boolean operators in this database. - On the results page, consider using additional filters for relevant surveys and/or subjects that may help you locate a relevant source of data on this broad topic. (This depends on what results you receive and their relevance).
- To determine which entries to investigate further, look at the search result entries (e.g., tables, visualizations, etc.), the descriptions of the entries, titles, release dates.
- Click through possible relevant sources of information. If it is a table, look at the summarized data, the description of the survey used to collect this data. Depending on the type of source you clicked on, descriptions of the survey variables may also be available, and more info available on the survey that collected this data (e.g., under ‘source’). Digging into this helps you answer the questions on page 2.
