TOPIC: You may choose your own topic and we will develop it in class. Suggestion: A topic pertaining to your program of study, or career field.
- General Information
- Paper should be approximately 6-8 pages in length, typed, double-spaced
(Do not count the cover page)INCLUDE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY.
- Use Times New Roman font, 12 point
- Pages should be numbered appropriately (none for the cover page and transmittal letter and i, ii, iii for the pages leading up the first page of your repor)
- Do a cover Sheetand include the following information:
- The title of your paper
- Your professor’s name
- Your name
- The title of this class
- Date (you may use the due date as shown at the top of this page)
- Following the cover sheet, prepare a transmittal letter (create a letterhead for yourself)
- Prepare and include a Table of contents
- Prepare and include a Summary page
The paper will be graded on the following:
- Organization
- Summarypage
- Clear introduction
- Each paragraph should contain a main point or thought
- Good transition from paragraph to paragraph
- Clear development of topic from paragraph to paragraph
- Include graphs or tables if necessary
- Content and/or Analysis
- Hypotheses or theses is stated in the first paragraph
- Analysis and support of information
- Grammar and punctuation
- End of sentence punctuation (avoid run-on sentences, comma splices, fragments, etc.)
- Agreement of subject and Verb (Verb forms and verb tense)
- Avoid spelling errors
- Pronoun form and agreement of pronoun with antecedent (the antecedent is the wordthe pronoun refers to)
- Use of apostrophe s and the suffix–es
- Use of quotation marks for all quoted words
- Proper sentence sense (no words omitted, scrambled, or incomprehensible)
- Bibliography and citations
1.Proper citation for all sources (quote or cite anything borrowed from another author)
2.For citations, useeither the APA orthe MLA Style
3.At least 5 cited sources (may beinternet, books, and academic research sites)
